The world inside USA

0

Frank Jacobs blog about weird maps is a source of laughs and curiosity. It contains the real, the fictional, the fantastic and the self-made. He found a map of USA with each state named after a country with corresponding GDP, though I would have liked a colour-coded intensity added, it is well worth a study. (I cannot for the life of me find the source of this map; I would be happy to know who made it and credit properly.). It lacks some information about the population of each state; this would of course affect the GDP. So though it should not be taken too seriously, it is an indication, and a novel way of thinking about economy.  Read more about it in Frank Jacobs blogpost.

Here is the basic breakdown:

  2. Texas’ economy is significantly smaller, exactly half of California’s, as its GDP compares to that of Canada (#10, $1,08 trillion).
